Inventory counts when your warehouse sits outside the city

Many Maple Crest audit clients keep finished goods or raw materials in warehouses beyond central Fukuoka. Count observation still matters; travel time simply needs to enter the plan earlier.

Freeze instructions

Issue a written freeze for movements during the count window. If production cannot stop, isolate work-in-progress zones and record transfers with dual sign-off so the roll-forward remains auditable.

Sampling the floor

We rarely count every bin. High-value SKUs, slow-moving lots, and locations with prior discrepancies receive more attention. Warehouse supervisors who know which bays have chronic variance help the count day finish on schedule.

Third-party locations

Stock held by a processor or logistics partner needs confirmation letters and, where material, a visit or alternative procedures. Leaving third-party stock to the last week of fieldwork is a common cause of opinion delays.

After the count

Tie count sheets to the perpetual records the same week. Differences parked “to investigate later” tend to become adjusting entries discussed under time pressure.
